Tom Bennett, American (1940 - 2016)

Tom Bennett and his twin brother Bob Bennett were born on February 9, 1939, in Rotan, Texas.
Tom Bennett died on April 17, 2016, in Cameron Park, California.
In the 1950s the Bennett family moved to Sacramento, California. Tom Bennett, together with his twin brother, Bob Bennett, who died in 2003, founded Bennett Sculpture in Placerville, California. Tom Bennett specialized in sculpting female forms in dance poses. Bob Bennett specialized in abstract designs.
Tom and Bob Bennett were commissioned by Gregg Lukenbill, former principal owner of the Sacramento Kings, to create a pair of 16-foot abstract sculptures for the original Arco Arena building. Bob Bennett created the sculpture titled Evolution, and Tom Bennett created the sculpture titled Freedom.
In 2007, Tom Bennett was commissioned by Elle magazine to create an award for the annual Women in Hollywood event. The award was given to some of the most prominent women in the film industry.
