Bruce Freund studied at California State University in Fullerton, California. He began creating blown glass in 1977.
He works with the finest glass-making products imported from Kugler glass in Germany.

In an article published in the Los Angeles Times in 1993 Bruce Freund said, “It’s very exciting and challenging to me, once people begin to appreciate glass. I love seeing their reactions to my pieces. Glass is so beautiful, and this work brings such enjoyment. What’s gratifying to me is that glass is really gaining an incredible amount of interest and appreciation. For me, there’s also a sense of immortality in my work. You look at some of the pieces of art that have lasted for hundreds of years. In the back of my mind, I’m always hoping that maybe two-thousand years from now, a few of my pieces will still be around.”
