Stephanie Cunningham studied at Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa, California; San Jose State University in San Jose, California; and at the University of Redlands in Redlands, California.

Betty Haight was an attorney (now retired) She studied at Creighton University School of Law in Omaha, Nebraska. She was also an artist and maintained an art studio at 1278 Glenneyre Street, Laguna Beach, California.

In or around 2009 and for several years following, artists Stephanie Cunningham and Betty Haight collaborated on a series of paintings titled Duets. Stephanie Cunningham created semi-abstract landscapes, and Betty Haight created semi-abstract figurative paintings. The paintings were assembled side-by-side and attached within wooden frames that were custom made by Betty Haight.

Duets, the series of paintings created collaboratively by Stephanie Cunningham and Betty Haight, has been exhibited in galleries, art studios, art fairs, and various venues including but not necessarily limited to the following:
