Rhoda Weissman, American (1929 - 2016)

Rhoda Yvette Weissman was born in New York in 1929, she died in California in 2016.
Rhoda Weissman and her husband Albert provided a generous legacy gift to the Jewish Community Foundation Orange County to fund arts related programs.

Rhoda Weissman studied at Goddard College in Plainfield, VT, California State University in Northridge, CA, and at the Art Students League in New York, NY. She maintained an art studio in West Los Angeles and was a prolific artist, creating over one-hundred original paintings. She was a member of The National League of American Pen Women. From 1988 through 1990, she served as exhibition chairperson for the Southern California Women’s Caucus for the Arts. From 1994 through 2001, she served as a docent for the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. In 2017, two of Rhoda Weissman’s paintings were acquired for permanent display at the Simon Wiesenthal Center and Museum of Tolerance in Los Angeles, CA. Also, in 2017, the Laguna Art Museum exhibited her work.
