Gene Elmore, American (1927 - 2015)

Gene Elmore was born on September 6, 1927, in Finlay, Ohio.
He died on September 22, 2015, in Pacific Grove, California.

He served as a US Navy pilot during World War II, and the Korean War.
He lived for a while on the Island of Capri, Italy, where he taught at a private art school founded by artist Pat Cunningham. He returned to the United States and settled in California. He studied at the San Francisco Academy of Advertising Art in San Francisco, California. He was a member of the Carmel Art Association.

In 1958, Gene Elmore's painting depicting a trumpet on a chair was chosen to represent The Monterey Jazz Festival.
His art has been exhibited at Caroline Sweetzer Antiques in Davenport, CA, and at Hauk Fine Arts in Pacific Grove, CA.
