Beverly Carrick, American (1927 - 2012)

Beverly Ernestine Jamison was born on August 08, 1927, in Long Beach, California.

Her earliest ambition was to become a professional dancer. However, at the age of twelve she was diagnosed with cancer and endured lifesaving leg amputation surgery. Thus, she turned her attention to becoming an artist. She experimented with various methods of drawing and painting. She was chiefly a self-taught artist, taking only a few private lessons with American impressionist painter, Vernon Kerr (1938 – 1982) and Romanian-American portrait and landscape painter Theodore Nikolai Lukits (1897 – 1992)

Beverly was married twice, first to Harry Hall Carrick and then to John Snow.
Most of her paintings are signed “Beverly Carrick” or simply “Carrick.”
She is known for her traditional California and Southwest landscape paintings.
She was a Signature Member of the American Academy of Women Artists.
