Benjamin Chee Chee, Native American (1944 - 1977)

Benjamin Chee Chee was a member of the Ojibwa Tribe. He was born Kenneth Thomas Benjamin in Temagami, Ontario, Canada in 1944. He died of suicide in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada in 1977. He was a self taught artist and a second generation member of the Native American – Canadian Woodland Indian Painters art movement. The art of Benjamin Chee Chee is or has been exhibited and/or sold in museums, galleries, universities, and auction houses including but not necessarily limited to the following:
